The Hilbert--Einstein functional and the Sasaki-Futaki invariant

Kähler Geometry, Einstein Metrics, and Generalizations March 21, 2016 - March 25, 2016

March 25, 2016 (02:00 PM PDT - 03:00 PM PDT)
Speaker(s): Eveline Legendre (Université de Toulouse III (Paul Sabatier))
Location: MSRI: Simons Auditorium

I will show how the Hilbert--Einstein functional detects the
Reeb vector fields having a vanishing transversal Futaki
invariant and so that it is an obstruction to the existence
of constant scalar curvature Sasaki metrics. I will also discuss
the relation of this functional with the sasakian
K-stability defined by Collins--Szekelyhidi
